Lone Fir Cemetery

Our daughter volunteers for the
Lone Fir Cemetery,
in Portland, Oregon.

She gave us a tour while we were visiting.

This historical cemetery is very interesting.

Many stories of

famous people

                                 and different nationalities.

If you have time to visit this amazing cemetery call ahead.
Often someone in the office will give you a tour.

In October they often have night
tours with guides in costume.
A cool fund raiser and a good way to keep vandals out
on Halloween.

New graves

are often right next

 to old graves.

I was delighted to see a hairstreak.

The squirrels were very interested in us.

This is a very well cared for cemetery.

I am proud of my daughter

for her service to her community.

Reading tombstones
is lots of fun too.

Dear Sherry, of course you are proud of your daughter. She does a wonderful job....she gives freely like her mother.

The cemetry is beautifully kept......and so very interesting.
Trees, butterflies and other forms of wildlife......lovely

Our cememtries are often neglected....it always saddens me.

This is a beautiful place. Cemeteries are full of so much art and heart. I love the photo of the tree gobbling up the old tombstone. Your daughter is a good girl. You have lots to be proud of.
