The Light House

Near our B&B
the oldest light house on the
Pacific Coast of British Columbia
still warns ships of danger.

I was looking for butterflies.

I saw skippers.

A Pine White flew onto my shoulder.
I gently moved her to a flower.
Back to our room.
It was time to dress for anniversary dinner.
A crane fly greeted me on the balcony.

I love the butterflies, not so much the craneflies :-) So why do I have more craneflies in my garden than butterflies :-)

Dear Chris,
I too love the butterflies where ever I am. I seldom see a crane fly so it was fun. Why they like your gardens???? Crane flies are what scientist use to tell if a stream or water way is clean. The crane flies are only around clean water! No mouths, so the adults do not feed on any plant life. The larva feed on leaf debris. They look like biting insects but they are harmless. I do think they are pretty. I like wings...

Dear Nita,
Not weird at all...
I have my nails trimmed short, active length it is called, no polish. I like a natural buff. Same for toes. Giving up polish was hard at first. Now I am natural....
