Red Woods

We stood with the Red Woods.
We stood in awe.
We sotod in an old-growth forest of ancient trees.

We stood in silence.

The sword ferns were opening.

Roosevelt Elk are safe here.

A nurse log reminded me how the forest provides for new growth.

We walked the Lady Bird Johnson Grove Nature Trail.

The understory was gorgeous.
The light was just perfect.

I was happy to see a bug.

When I am in the old growth forests
I feel safe.

When I stand with the ancient
trees I feel as if all is right in my world.

There is definitely a different "feel" when in these ancient places. I would love to be able to do the birding trail. Magnificent trees.

Hi Lisa,
When I am in the Red Woods I feel as if I am on sacred ground.
Ancient Forests are like that. The Trees talk.
I hope next time we go to hike the Birding Trail.
